The editor-in-chief of Intenta has been named to the jury of the National Investigative Journalism Competition

Valery Bolgan, editor-in-chief of the publication Intent, has been selected to serve on the jury of the National Investigative Journalism Competition.

This was announced by the contest’s founders, the Media Development Foundation. 

"Given the crisis of trust among investigative journalists that we have been observing recently, as well as the demand for greater visibility of regional investigative journalism, the contest’s organizing committee has decided to update its approach to selecting the jury," the founders stated.

This year, the jury includes seven representatives from regional investigative journalism centers. Eight other jury members are independent journalists from national media outlets and media experts who are not directly involved in producing investigative journalism. 

So, in addition to Valeriy Bolgan, the jury included:

The National Investigative Journalism Competition was established in 2014 by the YanukovychLeaks initiative as a professional award for the best investigative journalism pieces. Its guiding principle remains unchanged: entries are evaluated and winners are selected by fellow journalists.
