The case of two heads of the Odesa Housing and Maintenance Department, who were detained in late January on suspicion of abuse in the purchase of beds for military personnel in Odesa, was included in the list of the most high-profile proceedings initiated by the State Bureau of Investigation in January.

This was reported by the SBI press service.

According to the investigation, starting in 2023, two heads of the Odesa Housing and Maintenance Department purchased property for the army at significantly inflated prices during their tenure, which led to an overpayment of almost UAH 18 million in budget funds.

The Bureau's investigators decided that the officials had improperly performed their duties and failed to verify the economic validity of prices when purchasing beds for the military. The officials were notified of suspicion of negligence in military service, which caused substantial damage, committed under martial law.

Other cases on the list are:

Also in January, the SBI exposed doctors at the Odesa Territorial Recruitment Center who were massively issuing false conclusions of the military medical commission without the presence of recruits. Law enforcers identified all participants in the scheme and served notices of suspicion to members of the freelance commission of the Prymorskyi RTC and Odesa RTC.
