In the first nine months of 2025, more than UAH 95 million was paid to the budget thanks to the operation of WIM (Weight-in-Motion) automatic fixation points for administrative offenses in the field of road transport safety.

This was reported by the Recovery Agency.

In total, over the four years of operation, the budget has received more than UAH 591 million.

During this period, Ukrtransbezpeka employees issued 4,345 resolutions against violators. The WIM system recorded most violations in Kyiv, Dnipro and Mykolaiv regions.

The Weigh-in-Motion system is not only a source of additional funds, but also a key tool for preserving hundreds of kilometers of roads and bridges. It controls the excess weight of trucks, which is the main cause of road damage. Weight and dimensions are monitored using sensors embedded in the road surface.

Cameras additionally record speed, dimensions and license plates, and data on violations are automatically transmitted and processed in the Ukrtransbezpeka Data Center, eliminating the influence of the human factor. The Recovery Agency emphasizes that the development of WIM systems is one of its key priorities. It is planned to maintain them in proper technical condition, modernize existing systems and install new ones to ensure round-the-clock traffic control.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv region is among the leaders in the number of violations in the field of automotive safety. Over the past 9 months, more than 400 violations have been recorded here.

Thus, Mykolaiv region is among the regions with the highest number of recorded violations, second only to Kyiv (1169 violations) and Dnipropetrovska region (527 violations).

This year, Ukrtransbezpeka also started recording violations at new WIM complexes, in particular in Mykolaiv (WIM 52), Chernivtsi (WIM 84), and Kharkiv (WIM 62) regions. Currently, there are 58 WIM sites operating throughout Ukraine.

The most common violation recorded by the WIM systems is exceeding the legal weight and dimensions by 5-10%, which entails a fine of UAH 8,500. Prior to the full-scale war, this type of violation accounted for 36% of all recorded violations, and after the WIM systems resumed operation in May 2022, the share of such violations increased to 64%.
