In Odesa region, a 28-year-old woman made explosive devices to blow up people to order, but did not receive the promised reward. One of the devices exploded and injured a local man, and now the suspect faces up to 12 years in prison.

This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Odesa region.

According to the investigation, a 28-year-old resident of Izmail tried to make improvised explosive devices to blow up people on request, but she never received the promised reward of $800. One of the devices exploded, injuring a local man.

According to the press service, the woman was looking for a part-time job through a messenger and was recruited by unknown persons. They provided instructions on how to make explosives and promised money. To implement the plan, the suspect rented an apartment where she assembled devices from components purchased in Izmail shops.

The first device, installed near a residential building, did not work, and the second exploded when a man approached it, who received shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized.

The police of Izmail district and the regional Criminal Investigation Department identified the person involved in the organization of the terrorist attack. Physical evidence was seized from the scene and the apartment where the explosives were manufactured.

Law enforcement officers detained the woman under Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. A notice of suspicion is currently being prepared under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code (terrorist act), which provides for up to 12 years in prison with the possibility of confiscation of property.

In June, the SBU in Odesa detained a man on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack ordered by the FSB, which was aimed at killing a military officer. According to the investigation, the perpetrator was a 31-year-old resident of Odesa region, recruited through Telegram channels for easy money. Initially, he was assigned a test task - to set fire to a military vehicle, after which he received instructions to organize an assassination attempt.
