The court extended the detention of a man suspected of high treason. He passed secret information about Ukrainian troops in Mykolaiv to the enemy.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.

The judge granted the SBU's motion to extend the suspect's detention and continue the investigation into the treason case. The pre-trial investigation has been ongoing since October 14, 2025.

According to the investigation, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, the suspect established contacts with a representative of the aggressor state and joined the intelligence network he created among the residents of Mykolaiv. He used the Telegram messenger and other means of communication to transmit information.

The man transmitted information about the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military units, the number of guards at enterprises, as well as information about six checkpoints at one of the plants and the military's shift schedules.

The first important data was transmitted in August 2025: On the 14th, he sent information about six checkpoints at the plant, the location of the military and their schedules. On August 27, the suspect sent the coordinates of several objects, including the Kulbakyne airfield, as well as data on the movement of the military in the city. In September, he updated the previous information: On September 12 and 13, he reported on the movement of troops, the operation of underwater drones, and activity at the airfield; on September 20, he reported on the operation of plant No. 61 and training on underwater drones, which indicates a systematic collection of intelligence.

Regarding military units in the city, the suspect provided information about former active positions in Soliany, where soldiers were killed during the shelling in 2022; as of 2025, activity at these positions has significantly decreased. He also checked the presence of troops in the town after the shooting by monitoring traffic using drones.

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are establishing the full scope of the information transmitted and possible other members of the network that acted to the detriment of Ukraine's national security.

Intent wrote that on October 1, 2025, the man was detained and notified of suspicion of committing a particularly serious crime - high treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which is punishable by 15 years to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
