Strong winds to hit Mykolaiv region: yellow level announced

Residents of Mykolaiv region are warned of dangerous meteorological phenomena. In the coming hours, a significant increase in wind is expected in the region.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Hydrometeorology, in the next 1-2 hours on March 15, 2026, east winds are expected to increase to 15-20 m/s in the region and in Mykolaiv.

Forecasters note that strong gusts will continue until the end of the day.

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions, the first level of danger has been declared - yellow. This level means that weather events can be potentially dangerous for the population, infrastructure and traffic.

Residents are urged to be careful on the street, avoid being near trees, advertising structures and power lines.

As previously reported by Intent, intense snow and rainfall in Mykolaiv region is causing flooding in the city.

As a result of the deteriorating weather conditions, flooding was recorded in seven communities in Pervomaisky, Voznesensky and Bashtansky districts. The most difficult situation is currently in the village of Kumari.

In total, the Rescue Service received 23 reports of flooding of 49 household plots. Rescuers, utility companies and local fire brigades are currently working to pump out the water.

At the same time, in Odesa, social media reported that the morning ice that had bogged down the city's roads and sidewalks had already caused at least three deaths. The police reported that they had received information about the death of a man on Kanatna Street. Passers-by called 102. The man felt sick, fell and died.

An ambulance arrived and pronounced him dead. The preliminary cause of death was a heart attack. No other cases have been reported so far. In turn, the mayor 's office reported that the leadership of the Odesa City Military Administration and the City Council conducted a joint inspection of the city's districts.
