The charitable organization ADRA Ukraine has completely suspended the operation of its social buses in the Kherson region due to the deteriorating security situation. This decision also applies to the Novovorontsov community.
This was reported by the Novovorontsov Town Military Administration.
As noted by the administration, the risks to passengers were confirmed during one of the trips—a social bus was the target of a deliberate attack by a Russian FPV drone.
Social buses were primarily used by the elderly, people with disabilities, and other members of vulnerable population groups. Bus drivers are also at risk.
Consequently, public transportation in the Kherson region has been suspended until the security situation stabilizes.
The Novovorontsov District Military Administration noted that service on these routes will resume once appropriate security conditions are in place. Communities will be notified separately.
Recently, Russian attack drones struck a passenger train in Chornobaivka, Kherson Oblast. Two people were injured in the attack, and the locomotives were damaged.
On August 6, at approximately 11:50 a.m., an occupier drone struck a shuttle bus in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. Five passengers are known to have been injured, including a 15-year-old teenager.
