In the Vysokopilska community in the Kherson region, a deep hole was noticed in a field on the site of the former Kakhovka reservoir.

This was reported by specialists from the weather station.

The sinkhole occurred because the soil lost its strength.

"According to external signs, this formation is similar to a karst or landslide failure, which was formed as a result of the loss of subsoil stability. One of the possible reasons for the appearance of such formations may be a decrease in the groundwater level after the disappearance of the Kakhovka reservoir. The cavities that have been held by water for a long time are drying up, and the soil begins to sink, creating dangerous sinkholes," the post says.

It was also noticed that the plants in this field were severely weakened. This may be not only due to climatic conditions, but also because the soil structure has changed - it may have begun to shift or sink, agrometeorologists write.

Such pits can be dangerous for both agricultural machinery and people. Experts advise to be careful when working in such areas and, if possible, mark such places with landmarks.

Medical workers in the right-bank part of Kherson region received help from the regional administration.

In Mykolaiv region, air defense was working at night.

Three settlements in the Kherson region have been recognized as life-threatening. The reason is constant shelling and drone attacks by the Russian army. The population needs urgent evacuation. However, the head of the Kherson regional administration decided not to force anyone to leave. Families with children are not allowed to enter all these settlements.
