Large-scale power outages have occurred in the north and northwest of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Power has gone out in a number of cities and districts on the peninsula, and rolling blackouts have been implemented in the Bakhchysarai District.

This was reported by Krym.Realii, citing Yuriy Gotsanyuk, the head of the occupying government of Crimea, and the company “Krymenergo.”

According to Gotsanyuk, Armiansk, Krasnoperekopsk, Dzhankoy and the Dzhankoy District, Yevpatoria and its urban district, as well as the Black Sea and Saki districts, were left without power.

The occupying authorities state that they plan to partially restore power in these regions within the next 24 hours.

In addition, in the Bakhchisaray district, rolling blackouts have been implemented to “balance the load,” with a schedule of three hours with power and three hours without.

Gotsanyuk did not specify the reasons for the large-scale power outage, stating only that there were “disruptions on the main power grids.” Meanwhile, the day before, he had reported that Armiansk and Feodosia could be without power for nearly a day due to alleged “attacks on the power grid.”

On the night of July 2, monitoring channels reported fires at two power substations: the 220 kV “Donuzlav” substation in western Crimea and the 110/35/10 kV “Mityaevo” substation in the Saki District.

The “Donuzlav” substation is one of the key hubs of the power grid in the western part of the peninsula, while “Mityaevo” ensures the transmission of electricity to populated areas and is connected to a 32 MW solar power plant.

Recently, the Security Service of Ukraine announced a successful strikeon the “Saki” military airfield in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to preliminary reports, drones struck hangars housing Russian Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets.
