Yesterday, Russia again massively attacked the civilian infrastructure of the Odesa region, targeting transportation, ports and industry in the south of the region.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to him, the enemy strikes caused fires and damaged property. However, this time there were no casualties. Unlike the strike on December 19, when eight people were killed and 27 injured by a cluster munition attack. The epicenter of the attack was a passenger bus with people on board who were killed and injured. Also, trucks caught fire in the parking lot and cars were damaged.

In turn, the Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba said that the enemy had conducted more than 500 combined strikes at this location this week, 20 of which hit the bridge.

According to the minister, immediately after the attack on the bridge, a pontoon ferry was deployed in Mayaky and reverse traffic was ensured. Another one will be installed in the coming days. In parallel, active work is underway on alternative and "transit" routes. We will inform you about the relevant possibilities in due course (in the absence of security threats).

On December 19, the Odesa Oblast Defense Council suspended the movement of freight transport on the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway.

In the evening of December 18, during an attack in Odesa region, an enemy attack drone hit a bridge connecting settlements in the area of the Dniester Estuary and also hit a bridge over the Dniester River near the village of Mayaki. There, it hit a civilian car that was crossing the bridge. The car was occupied by a woman with three children. The mother was seriously injured and died in an ambulance. Her three children were taken to the hospital with injuries and acute stress reaction.
