Russian artillery destroyed the last boxing gym in Kherson

<span><span><span><span><span><span>In Kherson, Russian shelling destroyed the last remaining boxing gym where children and teenagers trained. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>This was reported by American journalist Zarina Zabriskie.</span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>The children and their coach filmed a video inside the shelled facility. They said they were supposed to train at noon but found their gym in ruins. The teenagers are shocked by what happened. They described how they used to come to practice while keeping an eye out for Russian drones, and also noted that a great deal of effort had gone into the gym. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>The coach and members of the boxing club appealed to the International Olympic Committee, calling for Russian athletes to be barred from participating in international competitions. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

<span><span><span><span><span><span>Journalist Zarina Zabriski noted that she had been filming this boxing ring for several years. She had seen five-year-old children training alongside veteran boxers in their seventies. </span></span></span></span></span></span>

Earlier, ItalianAmbassador Carlo Formosa condemnedRussia for the morning shelling of Kherson, during which one person was killed and the historic residence that housed the Italian Embassy from 1906 to 1918 was damaged. The ambassador expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian government and people, and noted that the damaged building was a testament to the long-standing friendship between Italy and Ukraine.
