A tender for almost UAH 1.76 billion has been announced in Odesa region to repair the strategic M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway. The work is planned to be carried out in separate sections and completed by the end of 2027.
This was reported by Intent with reference to the Prozorro electronic procurement system.
A large-scale procurement for the current repair of the national highway M-05 Kyiv-Odesa has been announced in Odesa region. The customer is the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Odesa Oblast, which plans to upgrade several sections of the highway at once.
The first tender involves the repair of sections km 274+435 - km 316+700, for which UAH 441.1 million is planned to be allocated. The second one covers the section from km 403+000 to km 438+000 at a cost of UAH 441.7 million. The third tender unites a wider list of sections, from the 274th to the 466th kilometer. In particular, the works will be carried out on the sections between 274+435 and 401+000 km, as well as between 403+000 and 466+700 km, including individual parts of the road within these limits. More than UAH 879 million has been allocated for this work stream.
All works are financed from the state budget as part of the road development and maintenance program. The repairs are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
The deadline for submitting bids is May 19, 2026, and the amount of bid security for bidders ranges from UAH 13 million to UAH 26 million.
In March, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated an additional UAH 3 billion from the state budget reserve fund for the repair of national roads, including the Kyiv-Odesa highway.
Intent asked the Odesa Regional State Service for Reconstruction and Development to comment on the condition of the highway and plans for its repair. They confirmed that the road suffered significant damage in winter due to temperature changes and heavy truck traffic. At the same time, the service emphasized that the last major overhaul of the highway was carried out more than 15 years ago, so the road surface has actually exhausted its resource.
In April, the repair of the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway worth more than UAH 79 million was awarded without an open tender to a company that has been repeatedly involved in criminal proceedings. Law enforcement officers were checking for possible abuses, including kickbacks, the use of fictitious workers, and illegal mining.
