Residents of the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky on the left bank of the Kherson region who chose to evacuate to Russia have been housed at a health resort in the Krasnodar Krai.

This was reported by the occupying media, citing the regional administration’s press service.

According to Russian authorities, the evacuees were met by volunteers who helped them complete paperwork, move their belongings, and settle in. According to the administration, special attention was given to people with limited mobility who require constant assistance.

Two-, three-, and four-person rooms were prepared for the evacuees, including for families with children.

An agreement on a humanitarian operation between Ukraine and Russia was announced on October 23. According to a statement by Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova, the ceasefire in the Oleshky area was in effect from October 27 until 10:59 p.m. on November 1, Moscow time.

On October 30, a Ukrainian delegation led by Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets arrived in the occupied city. People who wanted to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine were given the opportunity to do so.

That day, two convoys departed from Oleshky: one headed for Ukraine, the other for Russia. The exact number of evacuees in each direction has not been reported.

Those who chose to travel to territory controlled by Ukraine were first transported through occupied Crimea to Anapa, Russia. From there, they flew to Belarus.

On October 31, the last plane carrying evacuated Ukrainians landed in Belarus. The next stage of their journey is their return to Ukraine.
