A resident of Mykolaiv was placed under round-the-clock house arrest for a series of pro-Russian posts on Telegram. According to investigators, the man called for changing Ukraine's borders, spread fakes about "terrorist attacks" and justified Russian aggression.

This is evidenced by the decision of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the investigation, after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the suspect supported pro-Russian narratives and published relevant messages in open Telegram chats, which law enforcement officers consider resources for promoting Russian propaganda.

Investigators found that on March 13, 2025, a man in the Pravdyvyi Mykolaiv chat room wrote a message calling for a change in the state border of Ukraine. In his post, he stated that"Mykolaiv and Odesa should become part of the Russian Federation" and called Ukrainians who supported the Maidan "pots" who should allegedly "pay tribute to the United States."

In addition, on June 30, 2025, according to the investigation, he left another comment where he claimed that"the entire south and east of Ukraine will go to Russia," and also used offensive language about Ukrainian-speaking citizens and Ukraine itself.

Separately, law enforcement officers recorded a message in which a man spread fake news about the alleged preparation of terrorist attacks in Mykolaiv by the Ukrainian authorities"to blame Russia." In the post, he wrote that"two trucks with the wreckage of the Shahed" had allegedly been brought to the city and urged residents to"be as safe as possible."

The investigation also believes that the suspect was justifying a full-scale invasion of the aggressor. In response to reports of hatred for Russians, he wrote:"Then they wonder why the war started", actually supporting the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

In another comment, the man said that Russia should allegedly receive carte blanche to eliminate the "illegal" Kyiv government.

The court ruled to place him under round-the-clock house arrest at his place of residence for the duration of the pre-trial investigation.

In April, a resident of Mykolaiv region, who headed the occupation election commission and publicly supported the Russian Federation, lost her property. The investigation found that she not only justified the aggression, but also called for the transfer of data about the Ukrainian military.
