Rector of Odesa National Maritime University submits declaration upon dismissal

The rector of Odesa National Maritime University, Serhiy Rudenko, filed a revised declaration after his dismissal. The former official's family declared several properties in Odesa and one car.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.

Serhii Rudenko, rector of the Odesa National Maritime University, filed a corrected declaration for the period from January 1 to January 4, 2026, which was not previously reported. The document states that the declaration was submitted upon his dismissal.

During this time, he declared UAH 128,559 in salary from the university and UAH 2,297 in pension from the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Odesa Oblast. The declaration also includes his wife and two sons.

The family's property includes several properties in Odesa. His wife owns a 167.1 m² residential building purchased in 2004 for UAH 2.7 million. Rudenko himself owns a 67.5-square-meter apartment that he bought in 2000 for 65 thousand hryvnias. His wife also owns another residential building with an area of 124 m², purchased in 2017.

In addition, he declared a 2006 Opel Vectra car purchased for UAH 125 thousand. No other vehicles, corporate rights or assets abroad are listed in the declaration.

The document also states that the former official does not have any objects of unfinished construction, valuable movable property (except for a car), corporate rights, intangible assets, financial liabilities or significant expenses.

Earlier, the CPR analyzed the declarations of heads of higher education institutions. The study included the rectors of the Odesa National University, Odesa Polytechnic, Medical, Technological, Economic, Pedagogical, Maritime, Construction, Law Universities, and the International Humanitarian University. Sergii Rudenko took third place with a total income of UAH 920 thousand, which was based on salary and pension.
