Rada approves new Cabinet of Ministers

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted to appoint a new Cabinet of Ministers.

According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 253 MPs voted in favor of appointing the new government.

In accordance with the law, Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko read out the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people:

"I, Yulia Anatoliivna Svyrydenko, realizing the high responsibility of a member of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, solemnly swear allegiance to the Ukrainian people. I undertake to abide by the Constitution of Ukraine and the laws of Ukraine, to strengthen the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, to defend human and civil rights and freedoms, to care for the welfare of the Ukrainian people and the sustainable democratic development of society."

The oath was then signed by each of the new members of the government.

The composition of the government:

  • Mykhailo Fedorov - First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Digital Transformation;
  • Oleksiy Kuleba - Vice Prime Minister for Recovery, Minister of Infrastructure and Territorial Development;
  • Taras Kachka - Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration;
  • Matviy Bidnyi - Minister of Youth and Sports;
  • Herman Halushchenko - Minister of Justice;
  • Svitlana Hrynchuk - Minister of Energy;
  • Natalia Kalmykova - Minister of Veterans;
  • Ihor Klymenko - Minister of Internal Affairs;
  • Oksen Lisovyi - Minister of Education and Science;
  • Viktor Lyashko - Minister of Health;
  • Sergiy Marchenko - Minister of Finance;
  • Oleksiy Sobolev - Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture;
  • Denys Uliutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine.

The day before, on July 16, the Verkhovna Rada supported the resignation of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. The entire government automatically resigned with him. Shmyhal was appointed the new Minister of Defense. All appointments to the new Cabinet have now been finalized.
