President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded a medal "For Saved Life" to Volodymyr Pavliuk, a driver of a Kherson ambulance.

This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Ambulance Service Oleksandr Prokudin.

During his work, Volodymyr has delivered more than 400 patients to hospitals. On October 28, 2024 , in the village of Antonivka, during the explosive drop from a drone, he helped evacuate the wounded and ambulance workers who were under fire. The driver risks his life every day so that people in the Kherson region can receive medical care.

Since the beginning of the year, 780 bodies have been evacuated in Kherson region. After the evacuation, experts conduct relevant research and draw up the necessary documents, then the bodies are transferred for burial. According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the process of evacuating the bodies is complicated by several problems.

In particular, the regional bureau of forensic medical examination lacks equipment and there is not enough special transportation. In addition, working in the coastal areas is dangerous because they are constantly under fire.

On March 22, an ambulance hit an anti-personnel mine in the Borozenska community of Beryslav district, Kherson region.

Three settlements in the Kherson region have been recognized as life-threatening. The reason is constant shelling and drone attacks by the Russian army. The population needs urgent evacuation. However, the head of the Kherson regional administration decided not to force anyone to leave. In the Kherson community, the evacuation concerns the villages of Inzhenerne, Komyshanske, Sadivske and Antonivske starostas (in particular, Vostochnykh streets - from 1 to 34), as well as Andriy Orlov, Grecheska, Soborna, Perekopska streets (all streets and alleys down to the Dnipro), Korabel, Yantarny-1 and Yantarny-2 neighborhoods.
