Law enforcement officers detained a man who manufactured and sold drugs in Mykolaiv region. The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
According to the press service of the National Police in Mykolaiv region, the operation was conducted with the force support of the special forces of the police company and under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
The offender bought precursors and manufactured psychotropic substances at his home, which he then sold to customers. The police detained him during another attempted sale and served him a notice of suspicion.
During an authorized search at the detainee's residence, law enforcement officers seized zip bags with a yellow and white crystalline substance, electronic scales, foil, empty packaging bags, multi-colored electrical tape, mobile phones, a jar with a white substance, and psychotropic manufacturing equipment.
A rapid test showed that the seized substances contained narcotic drugs. The seized items were sent for further expert examination.
Investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 307 and Part 3 of Art. 311 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Under these articles, the suspect faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Law enforcement officers are continuing the investigation and establishing the ways of obtaining precursors. Currently, the court has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of two months with the possibility of bail. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
In early March, three local residents in Voznesensk were served suspicion notices of selling psychotropic substances. The woman, together with her brother and another acquaintance, was engaged in the sale of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance, PVP. During the search, the police seized packaged alpha-PVP, cannabis, a syringe with brown liquid, drafts, mobile phones, a bank card and electronic scales.
The SBU also detained a criminal group that was engaged in drug and psychotropic trafficking, earning over a million hryvnias a month. The criminals distributed drugs among acquaintances or trusted persons, leaving drug houses in the city and region, as well as transferring them directly from hand to hand.
