The Pervomaiska community in Mykolaiv region is preparing to liquidate the Chausivka gymnasium. After the school is closed, students will be transported to other schools in the community. The main reason for this decision is the critically small number of students - only 33 children.

The relevant draft decision will be considered at a meeting of the Pervomaisk City Council.

According to the Education Department, as of September 1, 2024, 39 children were enrolled in the gymnasium. In June 2025, six 9th graders graduated from the school, and the number of students decreased to 33. In the 2021/2022 school year, as well as on September 1, 2024, no applications were submitted for the first grade. All students of the Chausivka gymnasium will be transferred to other schools in the community. School bus transportation will be organized for them to ensure continuous access to education. The decision to liquidate the school will be made after public hearings, and a special commission will be set up to implement it.

The Department of Education of Mykolaiv City Council has announced an open tender with special conditions for the provision of catering services in the city's schools. The tender provides for the purchase of canteen services for a total of UAH 146.3 million. The services will cover all general secondary education institutions in Mykolaiv from September 1 to December 31, 2025. As the initiators noted in the documentation, the procurement is part of a plan to ensure uninterrupted school meals in the new school year.
