Odesa patrol police identified and prosecuted a man for using the Patrol Odesa chevrons.

According to the press service of the Patrol Police, a video was posted on one of the social networks showing a man with the Patrol Odesa chevron listening to Russian music while in a car.

During an internal investigation, the police found that the man in the video worked for a security company and had no connection to the National Police.

A report was drawn up against the man for illegal use of the name and signs of affiliation with the National Police of Ukraine. The Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses provides for a fine of one thousand to two thousand tax-free minimum incomes.

Earlier, operatives of the Odesa Department of the Internal Security Department of the National Police, together with investigators of the Odesa Police, detained a group of criminals who committed serious crimes for their own profit. The accomplices ran up to the 44-year-old businessman in a city parking lot and, imitating a detention on behalf of law enforcement agencies, forced him into their car.

In January, the police sent to court the case of a man imprisoned for a drug crime who is suspected of fraud in the amount of more than 131 thousand hryvnias. Law enforcement officers found that on a popular website the suspect had found ads of citizens selling their houses in Sumy, Kyiv and Kirovohrad regions. Having called the latter, the offender introduced himself as the mayor of the city and the head of the village council, whose personal data he learned from open sources. The offender offered a real estate appraisal service and informed about the need to pay land tax. The misguided people transferred a total of UAH 25 thousand in taxes to the account he provided.
