The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office has brought a case against an official from Kherson and an entrepreneur from Kharkiv to court. They are accused of misappropriation of property on a particularly large scale, which was committed by prior conspiracy.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, in February 2024, a representative of the Regional Territorial Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine in Kherson region initiated a public tender for the purchase of specialized workwear.

The tender was won by a limited liability company from Kharkiv region. The company undertook to supply several hundred sets of winter and summer uniforms for medical staff. By the fall, the terms of the contract were fulfilled, and the funds for the goods were transferred to the accounts of the supplier company in several payments. However, a subsequent examination revealed that the clothing received did not meet either state standards or the established technological requirements.

As a result of the supply of low-quality uniforms for emergency medical workers in the region, the community budget suffered losses of more than UAH 3 million. The pre-trial investigation in this case was carried out by the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson Oblast.

Investigators of the Kherson Police Department also served a notice of suspicion to the head of a private company suspected of misappropriating budget funds while performing work on the shelters.

As law enforcement officers found out during the pre-trial investigation, in 2024, the customer and the contractor signed a contract for the reconstruction of a protective structure with the arrangement of a dual-purpose shelter in one of the medical institutions of Kherson. The total amount of the contract exceeded UAH 101 million.
