The Odesa municipality is developing its own mobile application that will allow tracking public transport in the city.

This was announced by Petro Obukhov, a deputy of the Odesa City Council.

According to him, the application can be launched in two months, and now the coordinates of trams, trolleybuses and even some minibuses are already being transferred to the EasyWay application.

The fact is that in February, the systems of the Odesmiskelektrotrans utility company began to be disconnected from the Transpod app. This was due to the fact that Transpod is a private company that did not share data with other resources, so public transport in Odesa was not displayed in Google navigation.

In October 2020, Odesa electric transport introduced cashless payment using the Transpod app. At that time, the app was already familiar to Odesa residents as a service that allowed them to track public transport online, as well as plan their public transport trips and plot routes on a map. At the time of the cashless fare introduction, the app was used by more than 30,000 people.

In January 2025, during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Transport and Roads, its head Petro Obukhov said that the Transpod mobile app and website would cease to operate and be replaced by a municipal system with open data that would integrate with services like Google Maps. In addition, the rules for using an electronic ticket are to be approved in the spring.

Also on the air of Intent.Insight, Petro Obukhov reported that the Odesa municipality will have to purchase 200 vehicles if the mayor's office wants to completely replace taxis with high-quality public transport.
