In Odesa, the court imposed pre-trial restraints on the employees of the TCC and a police officer suspected of kidnapping and extortion. All the defendants in the case were taken into custody for 60 days without the right to be released on bail.

This was reported by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.

On April 23, the Khadzhybeyskyi District Court of Odesa considered the issue of choosing a preventive measure for a police officer and military personnel of the Peresypskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. According to the investigation, this group may be involved in the abduction of a man and extortion of USD 30 thousand from him.

The suspects were detained on April 21 as part of a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine. The suspects include four employees of the Peresypsk RTC and JV, as well as a police officer. Law enforcement officials believe that they acted as an organized group that extorted money for avoiding mobilization.

According to Focus, the court was the first to impose a pre-trial restraint on a member of the RCC named Oleksiy. He told journalists that they were allegedly sent to detain a wanted person and denied the charges. Nevertheless, the court ordered him to be held in custody for 60 days without bail.

Another suspect, TCC soldier Viacheslav, also pleaded not guilty. He, like the other defendants in the case, was chosen a similar preventive measure.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred on Prokhorovska Street in Odesa. There, military personnel forced the man into a minibus and drove him around the city. During this, according to law enforcement, the victim was subjected to physical and psychological pressure, threatened with reprisals and being sent to the front line.

The investigation claims that the man was extorted 30 thousand US dollars. During the arrest, the suspects resisted, and law enforcement officers were forced to open fire at the wheels of the car to stop the vehicle.

The pre-trial investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident and the role of each of the participants.

Also, by the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, as well as the head of the Peresypsk Regional Center for Recruitment and Social Support, were suspended from duty.
