Odesa's educational institutions will return to full-time education on February 4.

This was reported by Yulia Filler, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council.

"The frost is gradually receding, and with it the usual rhythm of school mornings, children's voices and meetings comes to life," she said.

At the same time, the official emphasized that in case of non-compliance with the temperature regime in the educational institution, individual classes or shelters, the decision on the further form of education for students will be made by the head of the institution.

Due to the deteriorating weather conditions and to ensure the safety of the participants in the educational process, schools in Odesa were temporarily switched to distance learning at the end of January .

The decision was made based on the results of a survey of parents, which showed that there was a need to organize the educational process in a remote format for the period of deteriorating weather conditions.

After the shelling on January 19, schools in Odesa partially returned to full-time education. Prior to that, the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council decided to recommend that school administrations in Odesa resume full-time education on January 12.

The day before, the Odesa Regional Military Administration recommended that educational institutions in the region, which planned to resume full-time education after the winter holidays, consider temporarily switching the educational process to a remote format from January 12 to 19 or extending the winter holidays for this period. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has also made similar recommendations.

At the end of last year, frequent and prolonged air raids, during which Odesa schoolchildren had to stay in shelters, led to the city switching to a mixed learning format. The city's schools and kindergartens were advised to organize classes and groups on standby, and to conduct the main classes in synchronous or asynchronous mode.
