The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa sentenced a native of the city to five years in prison for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intentional light bodily harm.

According to the court's verdict, the man was found guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to two years in prison for causing light injuries and five years for obstructing the lawful activities of the military.

However, according to the law, a less severe punishment is added to a more severe one, so the man was sentenced to five years in prison. However, they decided to mitigate the sentence and replaced the actual term with a suspended sentence of two years.

The incident that put him in the dock occurred in December 2024 at a temporary mobile checkpoint located at 3/1 Pastera Street (intersection of Staroportofrankivska and Pastera Streets in Odesa).

One of the drivers detained at the checkpoint suddenly started to drive on and hit a soldier. Meanwhile, the defendant was driving by and decided to help the driver, so he knocked the soldier to the ground and hit him several times. As he fell, he hit his head on the curb.

The victim suffered a head injury, bruises to his head and knee. According to experts, these injuries are classified as light, but led to a short-term health disorder. In court, the accused pleaded guilty, repented and promised financial assistance to the Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, three men attacked servicemen of the alert group of the district territorial center for recruitment and social support in Kiliya, Odesa region, and damaged their car.

This was the second attack on the military of the TCC in Odesa region within a week. On June 13, the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support reported an armed attack on a serviceman - an employee of the TCC was stabbed. On June 12, in Odesa, a group of representatives of the CCC and JV and the National Police stopped a citizen to check his military registration documents.

The citizen responded to the request to provide documents with aggression and refused and attempted to escape. During the escape, the citizen used a cold steel weapon, stabbing a CCC and JV soldier.
