Odesa resident sentenced to 15 years in prison for photographing strategic objects for the FSB

The Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa found a local resident guilty of high treason and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

This is evidenced by the court's verdict, according to the Court Reporter publication.

In April 2024, the man took a photo of the Odesa TV tower and sent it to a representative of the Russian Federal Security Service named Fajar via Telegram. He also provided analytical information on working with the local population in the event of an occupation of Odesa and checked the location of air defense facilities.

Once, in a correspondence with the enemy, the accused complained that he could not move around the city because of the TCC, although he was actually a graduate student at the H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University and had a graduate student certificate. After that, the Russians organized the transfer of cover documents, which the adjuster found in a certain place. These were the ID of a member of the Odesa Region Defense NGO, the ID of the controller of the Infoksvodokanal branch, and the journalist's editorial ID.

"Infoksvodokanal and the Odesa Oblast Defense NGO have officially denied that they ever issued the IDs to the man. On May 9, 2024, the accused entered the territory of the port of Odesa and recorded on video the administrative buildings of the port, the places of refuge of port workers, as well as the presence of military equipment and passed the information to a representative of the Russian Federal Security Service. He was issued a pass to the port territory at the request of Stella Maris Agency LLC to inspect a Panamanian-flagged ship.

At the court hearing, the traitor pleaded guilty and named disagreement with the military and political leadership of the state as the motive for his actions. He said that he was offered money for such work, but he refused and did not take a single penny. The accused said he was remorseful and emphasized that he tried to prevent civilian casualties.
