The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support has set up a special commission to conduct an official inspection following a statement by writer and journalist Victoria Koltunova about the beating of her son by the TSC staff.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional CCC.

"In response to the information about the alleged abduction and beating of citizen Maksym Koltunov by representatives of the TCC, we inform you that an internal investigation is currently underway. A special commission has been set up and has already started collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. If the facts are confirmed, the management of the RTCC and the JV will provide all necessary support to law enforcement agencies for an objective investigation of this incident," the TCC said.

Odesa-based journalist and writer Victoria Koltunova claimed that servicemen from one of the territorial centers for recruitment and social support grabbed her son on the street of Odesa, took him out of town, and severely beat him, demanding money.

According to the writer, the man had three broken ribs, a punctured lung, hemorrhage in the lungs, a bruised spleen, and a concussion. He underwent an operation, but was unsuccessfully scheduled for another on Monday.

On January 19, patrol police had to call several additional crews to detain the man and take him to the territorial center for recruitment and social support.

While checking the documents, the patrol policemen found out that the passenger of the car was wanted under Article 210 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (Violation of the rules of military registration by conscripts, persons liable for military service, reservists).

The inspectors informed the man of the need to go to the district territorial center of recruitment and social support for further procedural actions. The citizen did not agree and began to flee the scene in the direction of the market.
