Odesa Region Faces Nightly Drone Assault: 97 UAVs Downed on March 23

The air raid alert that sounded for almost an hour in Odesa region on the night of March 23 was marked by an air attack on the Serhiivka community.

This was reported by Artem Shevchenko, secretary of the Serhiyivka village council.

"Another sleepless night for our community. Fortunately, there were no casualties. I thank all public utilities, colleagues, and local people for their tireless work to eliminate the consequences of Russia's armed aggression," he wrote.

However, the official did not provide any details.

Instead, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, did not provide any details of the night attack. However, according to the command of the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of March 23, 2025, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 147 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of imitation drones.

As of the morning of March 23, the military confirmed the downing of 97 Shahed attack drones and other types of drones in the south, north, west, and center of the country. 25 enemy imitator drones were lost without any negative consequences for Ukraine. Last night, the enemy used a larger number of attack UAVs - at least 122 units, and 25 imitation drones, respectively. The Russian attack affected Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa, and Donetsk regions. The border guards of Odesa region, in turn, reported the downing of two Shaheds at night.

On the night of March 21, the enemy also massively attacked Odesa and the region with attack drones. Civilian infrastructure was damaged, including a residential high-rise building, a shopping center, and shops. Three people were injured, including minors. As a result of the Russian attack, powerful fires broke out in three locations. Local emergency power outages were also imposed in Prymorskyi, Peresypskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Odesa.
