Odesa Region Earns $550 Million in Service Exports

In 9 months of 2025, Odesa region earned almost USD 550 million from the export of services. Transportation and business services accounted for the lion's share of revenues, with the largest partners being the United States, Turkey, and the EU.

This is evidenced by the data of the Main Department of Statistics in Odesa region.

According to analysts, in January-September 2025, the volume of service exports from the region amounted to USD 546.1 million, which is 15% less than in the same period in 2024. Imports of services are estimated at USD 364.4 million, an increase of 7.9% compared to last year. The positive balance of foreign trade in services reached USD 181.8 million.

Transportation services account for the largest share of exports - 71.5% of the total, or USD 390.4 million. Of these, $214.5 million is accounted for by maritime transport, $46.9 million by road, $24.9 million by rail, $9.1 million by river, and the rest is auxiliary and additional transport services - $92.4 million.

Business services are showing rapid growth - $91 million, which is 70% more than in January-September 2024. Significant exports also include telecommunications, computer and information services (45.4 million), construction work (5.2 million), material processing services (3.6 million), and royalties and other intellectual services (4.2 million).

Among the imports, the leading ones are transportation services ($316.4 million), other auxiliary transportation services ($85.3 million), and travel-related services ($8.2 million), where there is a negative balance - Ukraine imported more than it exported.

Geographically, the main partners of Odesa region are the United States (exports $29.2 million, imports $10.1 million), Turkey ($63.9 million, imports $10.8 million), Germany ($33.9 million, imports $13.7 million), Switzerland ($68.9 million, imports $10.2 million), and Romania ($52.7 million, imports $22.3 million). Other significant partners include Poland, China, the Netherlands, and Italy.

Overall, the EU countries remain the region's main trading partners: exports of services to the EU amounted to USD 226.3 million, imports to USD 241.2 million, and the balance was USD -14.8 million.

Since the launch of the Ukrainian Export Corridor, the ports of Greater Odesa have handled over 146.5 million tons of cargo and 5,596 vessels, of which 1,528 were handled in the port of Odesa. At the same time, since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 500 port infrastructure facilities, 116 civilian vessels, 157 civilians have been damaged or destroyed, and 161 facilities have been damaged in the Odesa seaport.
