The Department of Transport of Odesa City Council has preliminarily determined the main directions of free buses

According to Volodymyr Khitrenko, Director of the Department, these are Cheremushky, Lenselyshche, Peresypskyi district and the Western cemetery. The traffic interval is 30 minutes, and the mode of operation is from 6:00 to 19:00.

On November 11, the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council proposed to the Odesa City Military Administration to provide funding for bus service in the amount of almost UAH 10 million by the end of the year.

The plan is to introduce free bus routes in Odesa, which will use 20 humanitarian buses donated to Odesa by the twin cities of Regensburg and Istanbul, which are currently unavailable for regular routes. The routes are still being developed.

Earlier, the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, instructed the city to develop social routes for certain categories of residents to use the humanitarian buses.

However, the Department of Transport still hopes to put these buses on regular routes so that they can be used by all passengers, not just certain categories of passengers. According to Volodymyr Khytrenko, the Cabinet of Ministers is expected to decide on this issue by the end of the year.

According to Petro Obukhov , chairman of the Standing Committee on Transport, after the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passes a law allowing their use, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must approve the procedure for transferring these buses to municipal enterprises in order for them to be used after the law is passed. According to the law, the procedure was supposed to take only two months, and five months have passed, but there is still no government decision.
