A deputy of the Odesa City Council and his family are suspected of illicit enrichment of almost UAH 82 million.

This was reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

Based on the results of lifestyle monitoring, the NACP found that in 2021-2024, the deputy, his family and related persons acquired assets worth more than UAH 81.7 million without confirmed legal income. In particular

The deputy, who has been a member of the Commission on Communal Property since 2010, used his official position for his own enrichment. In particular, he appropriated non-residential premises in Odesa through a controlled public organization that had a non-profit status and operated under the pretext of protecting people with disabilities. The payment for the real estate was made with funds received as an interest-free loan from the MP's trustee.

In addition, his daughter acquired expensive real estate, cars and corporate rights without having any official sources of income.

The NACP prepared a substantiated conclusion and forwarded the materials to the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office for further investigation and prosecution of the MP.

He is currently living in his estate in Spain.

Earlier, the NACP found signs of declaring false information by former Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Roman Hryhoryshyn in his financial report for 2023.

In addition, the NACP found false information in the declaration of Yuriy Shumakher, who is a beneficiary of the Rostdorstroy road company and a member of the Odesa City Council from the Trust the Deeds faction. And Oleksandr Urbanskyi, deputy head of the Odesa regional council, may receive a fine for failing to include an Audi car worth about UAH 5 million on the market.
