Odesa City Hall identifies areas that may sink

The Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies (TES&E) at the Odesa City Council has identified the districts and streets of the city that are at the highest risk of flooding following the September 30 floods.

This was reported by the press service of the mayor's office.

In the event of a downpour, Odesa residents were advised not to stay in basements and semi-basements. The associations of co-owners of apartment buildings with underground parking lots were obliged to close access in case of a threat. Residents of the private sector should be prepared to evacuate at the first request of rescuers. If there is a risk of flooding, citizens were advised to leave their homes in advance and contact district administrations. Avoid lowlands, ravines and open spaces during heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service announced that weather conditions are expected to worsen. Starting from the evening of October 3, rain is expected in Odesa, and in Odesa region, in some places, significant rain with thunderstorms, wind gusts up to 17 meters per second.
