Employee of Odesa Regional Military Administration dies in flood in Odesa

An employee of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Nadiya Myshey, died in a flood in Odesa on September 30.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

According to the OMA, it was her body that was found in Sergei Eisenstein Lane. On September 30 in the evening, she stopped contacting after 19:00. Information about the disappearance was spread on social media.

"Out of respect for Nadiya's parents, who were abroad, we are reporting this loss only now," the OVA explained.

Earlier, Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said that the families of the victims of the October 30 rainstorm would be paid 100 thousand hryvnias from the Odesa city budget. To honor the memory of those who died in the September 30 rainstorm, October 2, 2025, has been declared the Day of Mourning in Odesa. The flood killed 10 people.

The storm caused serious damage: flooding of roads, power outages, damage to property, and the fall of trees. According to the weather service, 94 mm of precipitation fell in Odesa on September 30, which is more than 220% of the monthly norm for September (42 mm).

At least 800 buildings have been damaged in Odesa, including 300 private and 500 apartment buildings. Almost 3,000 people and about 660 pieces of equipment are involved in the response. In addition, units from other regions have arrived in Odesa. Rescuers and utility companies are pumping out water at 38 locations in the private sector. Almost 900,000 cubic meters of water have been removed, 147 tons of garbage have been removed, and 13 damaged building structures have been dismantled. Defense structures are also being brought back to readiness. Water has been pumped out of all flooded shelters, and they are now being dried and prepared for use.
