According to residents of the Skadovsk district, confirmed by satellite images, in the summer of 2024 , the Russians set up a military shooting range near the once resort village of Khorly, now temporarily occupied by Russia, in the Skadovsk district of Kherson region.

According to the Center for Investigative Journalism, during the summer, they received information about regular training of soldiers of the Russian occupation army on the small Bitter Corner peninsula in the Black Sea.

Comparison of satellite images allowed the CJR to find that various engineering and fortification structures had appeared in the northern part of the peninsula, apparently to practice assaults on trenches and dugouts, and firing positions for shooting, etc. Fires often occur in this square, which indirectly indicates that fire training exercises are being conducted.

The narrow dirt roads have become wider and more visible from the satellite since the beginning of 2024 due to the regular movement of military equipment.

Also, according to the Center, in late August, the Russian-appointed "administration" of the region announced the completion of major repairs to 20 kilometers of the regional road "Khorly-Kalanchak". This road, along with other roads that Rosavtodor has been repairing in Kherson region since spring, is needed by the occupiers primarily for their military logistics.

In general, the occupation authorities in the TOT are actively agitating Ukrainian boys to join militaristic clubs, including the Unarmy. The militarization of adolescents is taking place in schools and sports clubs, as well as during excursions and at public events with propaganda concerts. Last year alone, about 100 members of the Unarmy went to fight in the Russian armed forces against Ukraine. Some of them also went to study at military universities.
