Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov has appointed new directors to two municipal enterprises of the city, Odeskomuntrans and Miskzelentrest.

The relevant orders were published by the municipality's press service.

Thus, Volodymyr Tkach was appointed director of Odeskomuntrans, having been dismissed from his position as deputy director for operations of the utility. Zurab Shoniya was appointed director of Miskzelentrest. Both started working in their new positions on August 5.

The purpose of Odeskomuntrans is to meet the needs of the Odesa city community, individuals and legal entities by collecting, storing, transporting, restoring or disposing of waste. Miskzelentrest meets the public and economic needs of the city's territorial community in the area of landscaping by carrying out production, trade and other economic activities in accordance with the procedure provided for by the current legislation of Ukraine.

Both executives had been acting as directors of these companies for some time, but only temporarily.

In early July, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov announced the appointment of a new acting deputy mayor, Serhiy Kotsyuba. The new deputy mayor is a former soldier who lost his leg during the fighting in Luhansk region while serving in the 81st Air Assault Brigade and was demobilized. In May, Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov signed a decree appointing the director of the Department for Mobilization Training, Military Records and Defense Work of the Odesa City Council. The department is temporarily headed by Nadiya Novikova, who was transferred by the mayor in March from the position of director of the Department of Land Resources to head the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning.
