New Head of Corruption Prevention Department Appointed at Odesa City Council

Acting Mayor of Odesa Ihor Koval has appointed Olena Moskal to the position of Head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Odesa City Council.

The corresponding order was published by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

Olena Moskalenko will take up the position without competitive selection on February 2. Prior to that, she worked as a chief state inspector at the State Tax Service of Odesa Oblast.

Earlier, acting Odesa Mayor Ihor Koval dismissed Serhiy Gurov, head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the Odesa City Council.

The department develops, organizes and controls measures to prevent corruption and corruption-related offenses in the executive bodies of Odesa City Council. Controls compliance with anti-corruption legislation in executive bodies, municipal enterprises and institutions of Odesa City Council. Ensures protection of subordinate employees of executive bodies of Odesa City Council who have reported violations of the Law of Ukraine On Prevention of Corruption from negative measures of influence by their direct supervisor in accordance with the legislation on whistleblower protection.

He also informs the mayor, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, and other specially authorized entities in the field of anti-corruption about violations of legislation in the field of preventing and combating corruption.

Earlier, the interim mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, dismissed Yevhen Miroshnychenko from his position as director of the Municipal Guard. The order stated that the dismissal took place in connection with the liquidation of the institution.
