In the Kherson region, nearly half of the gas stations are currently closed due to constant drone attacks.
Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, reported this on the “Yedyny Novyny” news program .
According to Tolokonnikov, setting up mobile gas stations in the Kherson region, as was done in the Sumy region, is not practical.
“I’m not sure that this is a solution for the Kherson region, because even if this mobile gas station is stationary or even traveling to the location where it’s supposed to be, it could be attacked by a drone,” he explained.
As an alternative, he suggested refueling in neighboring, safer regions.
Tolokonnikov noted that some gas stations in the region remain open, despite the fact that the Russians attack them with drones almost every day.
“There are gas stations that remain as resilient as the people of Kherson—they continue to operate. Even though the Russians try to attack them with drones almost every day, they are also protected by netting,” noted the deputy head of the Regional Military Administration.
According to him, regional authorities are helping business owners so they can continue operating in the region. At the same time, some gas stations have been damaged, so nearly half of them are currently out of service.
Earlier, Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration, reported that the Russians launch more than 2,000 drones at the Kherson community every week.
To protect residents, anti-drone nets have already been installed along more than 23 kilometers of streets in the city, and electronic warfare systems, radio-electronic detection equipment, and mobile fire teams are also being deployed.
Over the past day, one person was killed and 23 others were injured in the Kherson region as a result of Russian shelling. Among the injured was a child.
The day before, the Kherson RegionalMuseum of Local History was damaged in the center of Kherson as a result of an attack by Russian FPV drones. The strike caused a fire in the technical rooms, which damaged part of the historic interior.
