An industrial park is to be set up in Mykolaiv region this year, which is expected to become one of the key drivers of the region's recovery. The park will focus on processing, food and furniture industries, as well as metalworking and related industries.

This was reported by MikVisti with reference to the article"Special Economic Zone for Mykolaiv: a chance to stop the outflow of business or a risk for the budget".

According to Vitaliy Kim, the head of the OVA, 100 hectares of territory have already been prepared for the future park, and in the future its area will reach 250 hectares. The operator will be a company that has experience in managing similar facilities in Ukraine, including Bila Tserkva.

By the end of the year, it is planned to complete the design of engineering networks at the expense of the state budget and officially register the park. Kim noted that there are plans to locate about 60 plants, of which preliminary agreements already exist with six companies. However, all potential investors are waiting for the end of the war to start working.

To support such large-scale projects in Mykolaiv region, a regional program for 2025-2027 has been developed and approved, which provides for compensation of up to 50% of the cost of land development for companies that will be located in industrial parks. Despite the incentives, the head of the OVA acknowledged that investors are currently showing restraint due to significant risks to the security of investments, stability of economic activity, and long-term business prospects due to the region's proximity to the frontline.

Despite this, Kim is convinced that the creation of the park will be one of the drivers of recovery, although it is a complex, multi-year process that requires a comprehensive approach. ''We are working in a comprehensive manner - we need to restore vocational education so that companies have trained workers. We are planning to create English-language courses and facilities for children so that executives of companies, including foreign ones, can move here with their families," Kim said.

We remind you that there are already two industrial parks registered in the region - SUNART in Kryvoozerska community and Techno Park Voznesensk in Voznesensk community - but none of them has started operating yet.
