Mykolaiv plans to renovate rehabilitation center for 4 million

The premises of the Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care for Children are to be renovated in Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv.

The relevant tender was published on the public procurement platform Prozorro.

This center is located at the regional children's home and plays an important role in helping children with serious illnesses. The renovation works are aimed at improving the conditions for children's stay and treatment, as well as providing comfortable working conditions for medical staff.

The preliminary cost of the works is estimated at UAH 4.5 million, although it may change based on the results of the tender. The customer is the Mykolaiv Oblast Children's Clinical Hospital, of which the Center is a branch.

Oleksandr Plitkin, chief physician of the Children's Clinical Hospital, explained in a comment to MikVista that the center plans not only to renovate the wards, but also to bring the institution in line with the NHS requirements and equip a new department.

"There is still a rehabilitation center there, but we will bring it in line with the requirements of the National Health Service. There will also be a mental health unit, with even more emphasis on it," Plitkin said.

According to the tender documents, the project involves major repairs of the premises, installation of new plumbing, renovation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electric lighting systems. In addition to construction work, the Center will be equipped with new furniture (cabinets, tables, sofas, armchairs) and equipment (laptops, refrigerators, information displays).

The contractor must complete all work within two months - by December 15, 2025. The bidding process is ongoing, and the contractor will be selected after October 28.
