Mykolaiv plans to build a wind farm for over UAH 550 million. The project is aimed at strengthening the community's energy independence and requires funding.

This is evidenced by the data of the DREAM ecosystem.

The Mykolaiv community is preparing to implement a large-scale energy project - the construction of a 12-megawatt wind farm. The initiator was the regional utility company Mykolaivoblteploenergo.

It is planned to install six wind turbines and diesel generators that will operate in a synchronized system of heat and electricity production with minimal CO₂ emissions.

The project has approved design and estimate documentation, has passed environmental certification, and is in line with national strategic documents.

The goal of the project is to establish stable and efficient heat supply in the community, reduce energy consumption through energy efficiency, and strengthen energy independence. In addition, the project envisages attracting international investment to modernize and restore the energy infrastructure damaged by the war, taking into account the long-term needs of the community during the post-war recovery period.

According to the project description, the total budget includes expenditures for several main stages. First, from June to the end of December 2025, the design phase will last, for which UAH 55.2 million is provided. Then, from January to April 2026, it is planned to purchase and install the necessary equipment, which will cost UAH 165.6 million. The main stage - construction - will last from January to September 2026, and the largest amount of UAH 331.2 million has been allocated for it.

The estimated construction duration is 24 months. The project is currently looking for funding sources.

Also, as part of the post-war reconstruction, an infrastructure project to install cogeneration gas piston units is planned to be implemented at the facilities of Mykolaivoblteploenergo. They will generate heat and electricity simultaneously, which will ensure a stable energy supply for residential areas, medical facilities, schools and other social facilities of the Mykolaiv community. It is planned to attract almost UAH 3 billion in investments.
