Mykolaiv MP's million-dollar fortune challenged by prosecutor's office

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has discovered a discrepancy between the ex-MP's official income and the value of property purchased by his family in 2024. Since the legality of the origin of the funds has not been confirmed, the state is trying to recover these assets through the court to the budget.

This was reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

Prosecutors demand that the assets worth more than 5.4 million be recognized as unjustified. The claim is based on the results of the NACP's audit and additional evidence collected by the investigation, which indicate a significant discrepancy between the family's official income and their actual expenses. The disputed property includes a Renault Duster worth more than 1 million, registered in the name of the former MP, and a 4.4 million apartment in Stryi, Lviv region, registered in the name of his wife.

Since the family's legal sources of income do not explain the origin of such funds, the SAPO insists on recovering these objects for the state. The Anti-Corruption Court has already granted the application for interim relief and seized the property, making it impossible to sell or re-register it until the final verdict is reached. The case is to be heard on the merits, which will determine the further fate of the seized assets.

Earlier, an elderly woman from Mykolaiv region was punished for deliberately ignoring the obligation to declare. The court found that the official deliberately delayed filing the declaration despite official warnings and experience in self-government.

The Arbuzynskyi District Court found Anatolii Moroz, the head of the Sadivskyi district , guilty of intentionally violating the declaration requirements. Although the official was officially warned about the renewal of the obligation to file declarations and the need to submit the document by April 1, 2024, he did so only in September 2025, when he had already received a suspicion.

The case file shows that the official has been working as a starosta of the Sadiv starosta district of the Blahodatne community since 2020. This obliged him to submit an income and property declaration for the previous year by April 1 every year.
