Mykolaiv lawmakers decided to transfer the boiler plant to Ochakiv

Members of the Mykolaiv City Council approved the transfer of a boiler house to Ochakiv at no cost. It is planned to be used to heat the city’s social service facilities and ensure a stable heating season.

This was announced during a meeting of the Mykolaiv City Council’s standing committee.

The transfer involves two boiler house buildings with areas of 234 and 238 square meters, respectively. The total area of the facility is 472 square meters.

The plan is to transfer the property from the municipal ownership of the Mykolaiv City Territorial Community to the municipal ownership of the Ochakiv City Territorial Community.

The decision to transfer the boiler house was made so that Ochakiv could ensure a stable and uninterrupted heat supply to social facilities.

Previously, there were plans to privatize this facility. However, during a previous session of the Mykolaiv City Council, it was removed from the list of properties subject to privatization.

Following this, the issue of the free transfer of the boiler house was submitted to the relevant committee for consideration. Five council members voted in favor of the decision; there were no votes against or abstentions.

At the same time, the Mykolaiv City Council is expected to finalize the transfer of the property to Ochakiv during a session.

Ochakiv is a small port city in the Mykolaiv region, located on the shore of the Dnipro-Bug Estuary, where it flows into the Black Sea.

Ochakiv is known primarily as a base for the Ukrainian Navy and as a fishing town with long-standing traditions. Due to its proximity to occupied Crimea and the front lines, the town has regularly come under Russian shelling in recent years.

At the same time, Ochakiv remains an important strategic point on the coast, controlling the entrance to the estuary and the approaches to Mykolaiv.
