The chairman of the supervisory board of Mykolaivvodokanal was not relieved of his duties

Anna Montavon, chair of the supervisory board of the municipal enterprise “Mykolaivvodokanal,” submitted a request to resign effective October 1. Members of the relevant committee did not approve her request and want to hear an explanation from Montavon herself.

This was discussed at a meeting of the Mykolaiv City Council’s Committee on Housing and Public Utilities.

Dmytro Bezdolny, Director of the Department of Municipal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council, informed the members of the committee of Montavon’s intention to step down.

According to him, she decided to step down from the supervisory board effective October 1.

Councilwoman Iryna Boychenko asked whether Bezdolny had discussed the reasons for her decision with Montavon. As it turned out, no such conversation had taken place.

Boychenko noted that she would like to understand whether the decision was due to personal circumstances or issues related to the work of the supervisory board. At the same time, Bezdolny offered his own explanation for the resignation.

“Personally, I believe that the main factor here was the unpleasant situation involving asset declarations and the criminal case,” said Dmytro Bezdolny.

Councilwoman Yelyzaveta Trishchanovych proposed inviting Montavon to a committee meeting to hear her position directly. However, since the next committee meeting will not take place for another month, the council members decided to hear her testimony during a city council session.

The mayor’s advisor reported that in her letter, Montavon cited personal professional circumstances as one of the reasons why she would be unable to devote sufficient time to her work starting October 1. The letter also mentioned the lack of clarity regarding certain procedures for terminating her powers.

One of the council members noted that before voting, it is important to determine whether the supervisory board has achieved the goals for which it was established. According to him, council members should hear about the results of its work and what it was unable to accomplish.

Ultimately, the committee did not approve the termination of Hanna Montavon’s powers. The issue is scheduled to be brought before the Mykolaiv City Council session on September 24, where council members expect to hear her explanation.

Meanwhile, on September 18, the mayor of Mykolaiv instructed officials to draft a resolution on the early termination of Montavon’s powers and changes to the composition of the supervisory board.

The supervisory boardof “Mykolaivvodokanal” consists of independent members and city representatives. Its main task is to oversee the company’s strategic development, evaluate the performance of management, and monitor the effectiveness and transparency of management.

Recently, Anna Montavon cited three reasons why she decided to step down as chair of the supervisory board.

It is also known that Montaвон is under police investigation.
