Million missing during reconstruction of kindergarten in Kherson region

The reconstruction of a kindergarten in the Bilozersky district of Kherson region has resulted in a criminal case against the director of the construction company.

According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the woman is suspected of negligence, which cost the local budget more than a million hryvnias.

According to the agency, in 2019-2020, the head of the contractor failed to ensure proper control over the scope and quality of repair work. As it turned out, part of the reconstruction existed only on paper - the acts she signed contained false information about the actual work performed.

The investigation found that a number of construction works were not carried out at all, although they were declared and paid for from the budget. The amount of damage exceeds one million hryvnias.

For these actions, the director was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence that caused grave consequences. The defendant faces imprisonment for a term of two to five years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years and a fine of two hundred fifty to seven hundred fifty tax-free minimum incomes or without it.

Before that, a technical supervision engineer was accused of negligence during the reconstruction of a kindergarten in Kherson region. This resulted in the loss of over a million hryvnias from the local budget.

Meanwhile, in Odesa region, the director of a construction company who misappropriated budget funds allocated for school repairs will be brought to court. The amount in question is 240 thousand hryvnias. During the overhaul of the roof of an educational institution in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, the businessman falsified documents, overstating the scope of work and the cost of materials. As a result, budget money was unjustifiably transferred to his company's account.
