Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, with the assistance of the Security Service of Ukraine, exposed an employee of the Kyiv District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in Odesa.

This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the investigation, in early 2026, he began to make money from servicemen who were wanted for unauthorized abandonment of their units. He looked for potential clients through his friends and offered them his services instead of notifying law enforcement.

For USD 7.5 thousand, the defendant promised to arrange a transfer to another military unit in Odesa region. In the future, this was supposed to help avoid responsibility for unauthorized leaving the unit.

He also assured that he could then influence the decision of the military medical commission and issue a declaration of unfitness for service with subsequent exclusion from the military register. The defendant was served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - abuse of influence.

The police also detained in Odesa a 33-year-old operator of a military unit who promised to assist in solving the mobilization issue in exchange for USD 5 thousand. The police found that the detainee promised to help a resident of Odesa, who was wanted by the district center for recruitment and social support in connection with violation of the rules of military registration. By influencing the officials of the RTCS and the JV, he guaranteed removal from the wanted list and fictitious employment at a critical infrastructure facility with subsequent reservation. Law enforcement officers detained the serviceman after he met with the client and received a part of the bribe - USD 3 thousand.
