Military man in Mykolaiv sold humanitarian vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A serviceman suspected of illegally selling humanitarian vehicles intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was detained in Mykolaiv.

This was reported by the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.

According to the investigation, in July 2025, the military man tried to sell several SUVs online that had been imported as humanitarian aid for the Defense Forces. These included a BMW X5, two Mercedes-Benz ML 270s and a Renault Koleos. He received a total of USD 21.8 thousand for the sale of these cars. He was detained immediately after handing over the documents and receiving the money.

The suspect is charged with Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit under martial law. This is punishable by 5 to 7 years in prison, confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions. Currently, the military officer has been imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with an alternative bail of UAH 242 thousand. All vehicles and cash were seized. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Mykolaiv Police with the SBU operational support.

In May, a teenager from Mykolaiv region was convicted of sabotage. The underage boy received a message from another user via his Telegram account, who offered him to perform a series of destructive actions for a monetary reward. The court approved the plea agreement and sentenced him to 5 years in prison. However, taking into account his age, guilty plea, cooperation with the investigation and obligation to compensate for damages, the court released him from serving his sentence with a probationary period of three years. The seizure of his cell phone, bank card and other items was canceled.
