Military from Mykolaiv region suspected of missing 3.5 million worth of dry rations

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation served a notice of suspicion to the head of a logistics platoon at a military unit in Mykolaiv region. According to the investigation, due to his negligence, the military unit lost food worth more than UAH 3.5 million.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

Investigators found that the official failed to ensure proper storage of food in the warehouse of the military unit. As a result, canned food, vegetables, and dry rations, which were intended to provide soldiers with food during combat missions, disappeared.

According to law enforcement officials, the damage caused to the state due to improper performance of official duties exceeded UAH 3.5 million.

The SBI noted that the serviceman is currently continuing his service, but as a driver in another military unit. He was served a notice of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - negligent attitude to military service under martial law, which caused grave consequences.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years.

Currently, SBI employees are taking measures to compensate the state for the losses caused to the state and are establishing all the circumstances of the disappearance of the food.

Earlier, SBI officers served a notice of suspicion to the head of a platoon of a logistics company of a military unit in Mykolaiv region. According to the investigation, military property worth more than UAH 1 million was lost due to his improper performance of official duties. It was property of the missile and artillery services, automotive, medical and military equipment services.
