Many casualties and injured: Russia fires missiles at port in Odesa region

On the evening of October 9, Russian occupation forces fired another missile attack on Odesa region. The port infrastructure of the region was under attack.

According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, five people were killed and nine were injured as a result of the missile attack.

The Minister clarified that all the injured were Ukrainians. Five are in serious condition.

The attack also damaged a civilian ship flying the Panamanian flag, the container ship Shui Spirit. Kuleba added that this is the third foreign vessel to suffer from Russian actions in the last four days.

"Ukraine remains the guarantor of food security today. Therefore, it is important to stop the practice of this terror - with enough weapons, air defense, diplomacy, sanctions and punishment for every war crime," he said in a statement.

Before that, Russia attacked a civilian ship in the ports of Odesa region. A ballistic missile damaged the Palau-flagged OPTIMA vessel. One person died as a result of the enemy attack. Five other foreign nationals, crew members, were injured.

The day before, on October 6, Russians fired on the civilian shipPARESA flying the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis, which was loaded with corn for export. It happened near one of the berths in the Pivdennyi seaport. It was the 20th civilian vessel to be damaged by Russian attacks.

On the night of October 9, the Russian army attacked Odesa region with drones. According to the prosecutor's office, a 9-story building, a medical facility, and an unfinished building caught fire. Five people were injured. What the high-rise looks like.
