Odesa customs does not consider it necessary to check 22-year-old inspector Sofia Krikunova, despite the fact that journalists found discrepancies in her declaration between official income of 34 thousand hryvnias and expenses of millions of hryvnias.

This was reported by Slidstvo.info.

The journalists sent a request to the State Customs Service of Ukraine after monitoring the lifestyle of Krikunova and two other customs officials. However, the State Customs Service reported that there were no grounds for such inspections, despite the published facts.

According to the investigation, Sofia Krikunova, who has been working at Odesa Customs since 2023, declared a salary of just over UAH 34,000 per year, but at the same time indicated a gift from her father in the amount of UAH 1.5 million. Journalists note that her father has an official income of about 6.5 thousand hryvnias.

In addition, Krikunova owns two apartments in Odesa with a total value of about 9 million hryvnias and actively posts photos of her luxurious life on Instagram. She also posts photos from luxury resorts, including the Dominican Republic and the Maldives, where the price of a hotel room can reach 31 thousand hryvnias per night.

It was also discovered that the inspector received fines for traffic violations, although no vehicles were listed in her declaration.

Earlier, SBU officers exposed a corruption scheme at Odesa Customs, with two inspectors among the detainees.

Meanwhile, unjustified assets worth more than UAH 2.8 million will be recovered from former Odesa Customs official Viktor Tkachenko. These are an apartment in Odesa and two parking spaces.

Police investigators also notified the deputy head of one of the departments of the Administrative and Economic Activities Department of Odesa Customs of suspicion of extortion and receiving undue advantage.
