Longtime editor of Odesa Film Studio dies

After a long illness, Tamara Khmiadashvili, a longtime editor of the Odesa Film Studio, head of the Vira Kholodna Film School, and member of the Odesa branch of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, passed away.

This was reported by the Odesa branch of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine.

Tamara Khmiadashvili was born on August 18, 1947 in the village of Ordzhonikidze, Odesa region (now Armashivka - a village of the Petrovirivska rural community in the Berezivskyi district of Odesa region - ed.) She graduated from the I. Mechnikov Odesa National University.

She edited a number of Soviet and Ukrainian films produced by the Odesa Film Studio. Among them are The Art of Living in Odesa, The Sea Wolf, How a Blacksmith Sought Happiness, On the Field of Blood. Aceldama".

Earlier in Odesa, Lyudmyla Sebova , director of the educational complex "Marine Lyceum - School No. 24" of the Odesa City Council, died on February 16. Earlier, it was also reported that Vitaliy Serafimov, the head of the council of the Odesa regional organization of the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine and the state examination commission of the Master's degree in public service at the Odesa National University "Odesa National Law Academy", died.

Also this year, Valerii Tishchenko, the first Head of the Criminalistics Department in the history of the Odesa National University "Odesa Law Academy", passed away. Valerii Tishchenko headed the department in 1998 and held the position for a quarter of a century. The lecturer also participated in the development of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and the Laws of Ukraine "On Forensic Examination" and "On the Bar and Practice of Law".

The head of the Kiliya District Court in Odesa Oblast died suddenly on January 24, around 5 a.m., in the Kiliya Multidisciplinary Hospital. The 45-year-old judge sought help at the medical institution with complaints of feeling unwell, after which he lost consciousness. Despite the help provided, doctors were unable to save his life. Mykola Balan has been working in the Kiliya court since 2008. In 2015, he became the head of the institution, which he managed for five years. After that, Oleksandr Maslenikov was elected as the head of the court, but in 2023 Mykola Balan was re-elected again.
